Also, it is a known fact that antibiotics helps in diminishing the concentration of the free fatty acids along the sebum making the inflammatory of the skin less.
The popular antibiotics that are being prescribed for acne control are Tetracycline, Erythromycin, Minocycline, Doxycycline, and Clindamycin. However, these antibiotics may have a side effect of giving women candida vaginal yeast infections.

The use of birth control pill for acne control is already widely accepted in the world today. It aims to regulate the hormones. Since acne is possibly triggered by unpredictable hormones in the body, it is reasonable to control the acne using birth control pills since it is known to control the hormonal level of a person. It is important however, to understand that all people both contain male and female hormones and an overactive sebaceous gland is the result of having an increased level of male hormones, the testosterones and androgens. The hormonal pill contains artificial estrogen or progestin, which is the female hormone, attempting to balance the hormones inside our bodies.
The results when taking birth control pills as a form of acne control varies and some may say that their acne has disappeared totally while others say it worsen their skin condition. There are a lot of side effects when using birth control pills and it includes weight gain, nausea, water retention, and mood swings.
