Like all type of allergies, the best way to prevent eye allergies is to stay away from the things that trigger the allergic reaction. For instance, if your allergies are caused by too much exposure to the sun and dust, it would be a good idea for you to limit your outdoor activities during the day. If you have to go into the sun, make sure that you use wide sunglasses that could keep out most of the harmful rays of the sun. You may also wear a hat or bring an umbrella to prevent direct contact with sunlight. Avoid going to dusty places and never wipe your eyes with your fingers. If your eyes start to itch, it is best to wash your face with clean water and pat your eyes with a clean towel.
